Mergin Maps is a SaaS GIS platform for field survey data collection. It has iOS, Android and Windows mobile app developed as an open-source on GitHub. It is written in C++/Qt6 with QML frontend and partially in combination with native iOS/Android code. The core dependencies are QGIS core library and other open-source GIS libraries, so the application has 100% compatibility with popular QGIS project. We are extending our app team to be able to reflect more swiftly on the product development requirements. The Mergin Maps team is mostly located in Bratislava, Slovakia, but this is a fully remote position that can be done from anywhere.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead development of Mergin Maps app
- Define and prototype long-term Mergin Maps app technical vision
- Cooperate with the rest of the team on requirements and design choices
- Interact with the testing, product and design team
- Contribute to open-source projects related to Mergin Maps toolchain
Requirements:
- English working proficiency
- Deep knowledge of C++ and Qt, potentially QtQml
- Feeling for UX/UI
- Knowledge of native Android (Java) or iOS (Swift) languages
- Overview of trends in mobile maps apps
- Self-motivation
- Open minded and creative approach
- Passion for GIS/maps or mobile apps technology
Full-time, fully remote, as Head of Sales you will be responsible for establishing and leading the sales department for our SaaS product, Mergin Maps, while also driving growth across our consultancy, software development, support, and training services. This role requires a strategic leader capable of developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy, building a high-performing sales team, and optimizing revenue streams, while able to also step in the frontline to talk to larger clients. The main focus of the role at the beginning will be approaching enterprise customers and establishing the sales cycle for this new segment for Mergin Maps.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a sales strategy and team to drive growth for Mergin Maps
- Lead and expand the sales team
- Enhance the effectiveness of the sales process and improve conversion rates.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for larger, more strategic projects, particularly in software development and consultancy.
- Work with the leadership team to refine service pricing
- Manage and nurture relationships with key clients and partners.
Requirements
- Fluent in both written and spoken business English
- Team leader personality
- Excellent negotiation skills
- 5+ years of experience in either SaaS or IT software development company
- 2+ years experience in leading sales team
- Experience in setup and implementation of sales departments, e.g. CRM
